Social Worker

Trish MacMichael graduated from Dalhousie University in 2014 with her Master of Science in Physiotherapy. She also played varsity volleyball at UNB Saint John while completing her Bachelor of Applied Management with a Marketing focus.

As a new graduate, she moved to Gros Morne National Park and worked in a sole charge position at the hospitals in Norris Point and Port Saunders. Here she gained valuable experience with a wide range of injuries and demographics. In 2021, Trish moved to Corner Brook and worked for one year in a clinical leadership position with Western Health before joining us here at Veitch in 2023 after the birth of her second child.

Trish has completed post graduate courses in Dry Needling, Mackenzie Part B, and various Manual Therapy courses offered through the Orthopedic Division. Trish works with a diverse clientele, which can range from individuals involved in motor vehicle accidents or workplace injuries, to athletes, to individuals suffering from other acute and chronic injuries and illness. Her approach to Physiotherapy tends to be hands on, with an emphasis on patient education and exercise prescription. Trish also has experience treating people with various neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, MS, and Stroke.

When not in the clinic Trish enjoys spending time outside with her family. Recently, she has developed a passion for boxing and attends/ teaches classes at Anchor Combat Academy. One of her highlights each week is teaching a boxing class for people living with Parkinson’s Disease on Friday afternoons.
