About Janice Abbott

Janice was born and raised in Corner Brook. She graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2014 and completed her dietetic internship through the Acadia University Dietetic Internship Program in 2015. Since then, she has worked in hospitals and community centres in Red Deer, Alberta, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and now in Corner Brook. Her love for the diversity of dietetics is demonstrated by her varied work experiences from critical care to long term care. She has also worked in diabetes management, cardiac rehabilitation, and primary care, with a focus on the prevention and management of chronic conditions.

Janice has specialized in diabetes management and has obtained her Certified Diabetes Educator designation to demonstrate her knowledge and commitment to a standard of excellence in providing diabetes education.

In her spare time Janice enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog, and in true dietitian fashion, cooking and baking. Janice is passionate about taking an evidenced-based approach to nutrition care that is compassionate and individualized, and believes that there is room for all foods in a healthy, balanced diet.
