What is Acupuncture?
What is acupuncture? Acupuncture is the practice of superficially inserting very fine, sterile, disposable needles into specific points on the body in order to activate the body’s ability to heal itself. It originates from China and has been a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine for almost 4,000 years.
Traditional Chinese medicine explains acupuncture as a technique for balancing the flow of energy. This energy is believed to flow through pathways called meridians in the body. By inserting needles into specific points along these meridians, energy flow will be re-balanced and optimum health can be archived. Acupuncture has also been show to release the body’s nature pain killers(endorphins) and to regulate hormone release.
Acupuncture has become a modern drug free way to relieve discomfort associated with a variety of diseases and conditions, including: back and joint pain, Sciatic Pain, Headaches / Migraines, Women’s Health Issues, Anxiety / Depression, Chronic Pain, IBS, and Insomnia / Sleep Disorders.
